EORI for companies and natural persons

The differences between legal entities, natural persons and companies from other EU countries.

Companies (legal persons)

A company registered in Lithuania receives the legal entity code (įmonės kodas) from the Register of Legal Entities; the EORI number becomes LT + that code. A third-country company instead gets LT + an ISO country code + a reference code from the customs office.

Natural persons

A natural person applying in their own name (not through a company) receives a number in the format LTLT followed by 13 characters — not their personal identification number.

Companies from other EU member states

A company established in another EU member state does not receive a Lithuanian EORI number; it must apply with its own national customs authority. Lithuania only issues EORI numbers to Lithuanian residents/companies and to companies from outside the EU.

Branches and representative offices

Branches and representative offices of a foreign company are generally covered by the EORI number of the parent company and do not receive a separate one.
